Exercise regularly—at least 150 minutes per week—to maintain a healthy weight and avoid liver fat accumulation.
Benzodiazepine and opioids – a safety concern. Generally, do not initiate opioid therapy in patients routinely using benzodiazepine therapy. Both drugs are sedating and suppress breathing. Together they can cause a fatal overdose.
Deciding when to quit is the first step. Select a date in the next two weeks to allow for mental preparation. Tell family and friends so they can offer encouragement. Determine what triggers your smoking, like stress, coffee, or social situations, and decide how to cope with them.
It may seem hard to quit “cold turkey,” where you stop smoking suddenly. But Dr. Solanki says studies show that whether you taper your cigarettes or quit cold turkey, the results are the same.
